Acting as Scenic Designer in collaboration with Director Amanda Schafer, an experimental venture was taken in making John Patrick's memorable comedy "The Curious Savage" a contemporary piece. Chuck full of brightly saturated colors of sky blue, jewel orange, and avocado green, the color palate was select specifically to unapologetically evoke a feeling of superficiality. With homes gaining a stereotypical reputation of force happiness, it was adopted as part of the theme of this production adaptation. In the plays conclusion, the paradigm of "crazy" being charming and sincere while "sanity" is cast in a strange light gives emphasis to the old adage of never taking anything at face value. The set was designed to support such an notion.
